“Preparedness“. A very unique English word. We all understand easily the concept of “preparation“. But it is something else to prepare something and to be in a state of being prepared.
Preparedness. Why is it that we have to be prepared most of the time for the worst and almost never for the best?

Preparedness. It may be the ultimate dream of the science mythology inherited from the positivist 19th century, that we may control one day the unforeseen to replace it by total previsibility, hence management of the reality. Preparedness is part of that dream, still dreamt despite the daily denial brought by the endless catastrophe of our modern technocratic world.
Preparedness. We all know very well what is going to happen to us, eventually. I was answered today by someone I apologized to for having apparently took his seat in a meeting: “We only own one place for sure in life: our grave“. A wise, well prepared fellow. ■ Benjamin JOINAU
‘Preparedness _ 준비됨, 각오’는 매우 독특한 영어 단어이다. ’준비’는 이해하기 쉬운 개념이지만,
'Preparedness' 는 준비를 위한 준비이며 준비된 상태를 말한다.
Preparedness. 왜 우리는 대부분 최선의 상황을 준비하지 못하고 최악의 상황에 대비해야 할까?
Preparedness. 이는 아마도 우리가 언젠가는 현실을 조종해서 다가올 미래를 완벽하게 예견하게 되리라는 19세기 낙관론자들에게서 물려받은 과학적 신화에 대한 궁극적인 꿈인지도 모른다.
'Preparedness'는 우리의 현대 기술주의 세상의 끝없는 재앙이 가져다 준 일상적인 부정에도 불구하고 아직도 계속 꾸는 바로 그 꿈의 일부이다.
Preparedness. 우리 모두는 우리에게 결국 무슨 일이 일어날지 잘 알고 있다.
나는 오늘 한 회의에서 내가 실수로 자리를 잘못 앉아서 사과를 하게 된 현명한, 잘 준비된 사람에게서 그 답을 얻었다. "우리 인생에서 우리가 진짜로 소유한 단 한 자리는 바로 우리의 무덤 이다.” 라고.
